Winner of the Award of Garden Merit, our Globe-variety thistle raises this once humble wildflower to heights of pure majesty. From late summer until early fall, dark metallic blue, 2" round flower heads pop enthusiastically above silvery, spiky foliage and deeply divided, green basal leaves. The foliage lends interest and texture spring through fall. Wonderful mixed with other perennials in the back of a summer border, particularly dahlias and echinacea. Excellent for cutting, can be dried for the winter. Drought tolerant.
